50 pt Steamroller 2014 at Clockwork Comics

Clockwork Comics in Orange, CT hosted it's first Steamroller of the new year with the brand new Steamroller 2014 rules and scenarios on January 25 2014. One of our local Press Ganger's here in CT, Dan Berger was kind enough to run the event after our other Press Ganger, Dan Mirandi at the last minute had to tend to some family matters. We had a good and varied turnout with 10 players consisting of two Protectorate of Menoth, two Cryx, two Khador, two Circle Orboros, and two Legion players. Everyone had a good time. I wish I could have played a little better but I had fun and went 1-2 for the day. After three rounds we still had two undefeated players and the decision was made to call the event and split the prize support. Congratulations Will and Pat and thanks to Berger for running the event and Dean for hosting at Clockwork! Enjoy some pics of yesterday's event.

Ice Basing Test

Here's my test base for my Legion army. Going for an ice effect. I'm using "Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint: clear rock candy". I used these two threads as inspiration.

It's pretty simple. I painted my basing area with fenrisian gray. I cut up some small slivers of clear plastic from a blister pack and glued them onto the base. I then applied the crackle paint and let it dry for a few hours. I then did a watered down wash of temple guard blue and finally drybrushed white.

Cinerators to Bastions Conversion

Finished these up a little while back and just getting around to posting up pics. Would love to paint a second unit of these guys some day as my painting has evolved some since I originally painted these models a year and a half ago. Overall happy with the conversion though.

Painting Legion Beasts WIP

Finally got all the plastic cleaned, gap filled, and ready for paint. It's always satisfying to put down some color and get started painting. Got the Carnivean, Angelius, all the pieces for the heavy kit, and a Shredder airbrushed in my base color (Sotek Green) and got started with a black base coat on the scales and heads.
